A typical style for blog posts is where an author will explain that choices the author made are great, and everybody should strive to have the knowledge that they have obtained, or identity that they have embraced.

The other classic example is the format "10 things that every XYZ must know", where the author will list things that they know and use for their day job, but whether or not those apply to everybody in the same field is debatable.
Why do writers do this? Probably because it is easy, rewarding and feels good. But why is this the case?
